What kinds of videos work best?
Podcasts, talk shows, interviews, webinars, and streams. Anything with people talking. Clear speech produces the best clips. Music-only or silent footage won't work as well, because the clips are picked from what's being said.
How long does it take?
About 10 to 15 minutes for a typical video. Longer videos take more time. You can close the tab and come back. If you allow notifications, we'll tell you when your clips are ready.
How many clips will I get?
Usually 3 to 15 clips, depending on the length and content of your video. You see all of them, watch the previews, and pick the ones you want to download.
Do I need to edit anything?
No. The clips are cut and ready to post. You pick the ones you like and download them in full quality. No timeline, no trimming, no editing software.
What format are the clips?
Vertical MP4 at 1080 by 1920. The same format used by Reels, Shorts, and TikTok. No watermark. Ready to upload directly.
Where do my clips go?
Your clips are available to download from the results page. They're stored temporarily and deleted after the retention window. Download them while they're available.
Is my video private?
Your video is processed on Google Cloud. The audio is transcribed, and the transcript is sent to Google Gemini for analysis. All uploaded content is deleted after the retention window. We don't share your video with anyone.
How big a file can I upload?
Up to 2 GB. MP4, MOV, WebM, and MKV all work. For very long videos, the processing time will be longer.
Can I pick which moments become clips?
ClipToReel picks the moments for you based on what's being said. You then choose which of those clips to download. You can't manually select start and end points, because the point is that you don't have to.
